New Inline Six Engine

Mazda has just recently revealed that the new 2024 Mazda CX-90 will include the turbocharged inline-six. The new CX-90 is a three-row SUV that will be replacing the current CX-9 SUV. The new 340-hp inline-six engine is Mazda’s most powerful engine reintroducing new power and productivity. Mazda is introducing new longitudinal-engine architecture that they are calling “Large Platform” that will support new electrified powertrains like the 3.3-liter inline-six capable of producing 340 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque with a 48-volt hybrid system. There will also be a plug-in hybrid version of the vehicle with an output of 323 horsepower and 369 point feet of torque powered by its 2.5-liter inline gasoline engine as well as its 17.8kWh battery pack.

It is important to note that all-wheel drive is standard on the 2024 Mazda CX-90 along with the new eight-speed automatic standard with both powertrains. You can expect the plug-in model of the SUV to provide somewhere between 20 and 30 miles of electric range. Mazda has confirmed that CX-90’s six-cylinder engine will be able to provide better fuel economy than the current CX-9 and its 23 mpg thanks to its hybrid system.

Exact pricing for the new 2024 Mazda CX-90 is still unknown, but there is a high chance that it will start in the low $40,000 range with top trims and models reaching close to $60,000.
