Take In The Sights & Christmas Lights Near Fredericksburg

It’s the holiday season, and you know what that means – it’s time to seek out the twinkliest, merriest, most festive lights displays you can find and enjoy the sights. This is the perfect year to take your annual Christmas lights tour to the next level, and maybe even travel a little ways out of town to catch some of the best displays. There are some stellar lighted attractions to be found all over Virginia. Here are a few favorites that aren’t too far from home.

Illuminate Light Show

This show is the largest drive-through light show in Central Virginia, and well worth a visit. Located at the Meadow Event Park in Doswell, VA, Illuminate showcases nearly a million dazzling LED lights synchronized to music, all from the comfort of your own car. Admission tickets are priced by the vehicle, and the show is open seven days a week, 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. through January 3, 2021.

Lewis Ginter GardenFest of Lights

Located at the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden in Richmond, this breathtaking display features a beautiful outdoor setting awash in lights of all colors and intricate model trains. Hot chocolate is available for purchase to enjoy as you stroll the grounds. Safety measures are in place to accommodate social distancing, and this limits the number of guests who can visit at a given time – so buy your tickets early. The festival runs through January 10, 2021 and goes nightly from 4 to 10 p.m.

Winter Walk of Lights

This Christmas lights extravaganza takes place at Vienna’s Meadowlark Botanical Gardens. Boasting a half-mile animated light show with plenty of wow factor, the Winter Walk of Lights is a festive tradition that’s fun for the whole family. It’s open nightly through January 3, 2021.

Bull Run Festival of Lights

This Manassas event invites you to drive through 2.5 miles of brightly lit, festive holiday displays. Admission is priced per car, and there is a discount for online ticket purchases. The festival runs nightly through January 10, 2021.
