Cave Mountain Lake

Located near Glasgow, this intimate campground offers a beautiful setting to go along with a host of outdoor activities. There are only 41 campsites located throughout the grounds. Toilets and warm showers are available. The campground’s seven-acre lake is enveloped by mountains.

Elizabeth Furnace

This family-friendly recreation area has 30 campsite located along Passage Creek. The campground has hot showers and flush toilets available through October. The campground is low elevation deep within the mountains. You can spend the day fishing, grilling, or hiking across the swinging bridge to view the historical cabin.

Wilderness Road Campground

This campground is situated on a sloped, heavily wooded ridgeline that is tucked in the historic Cumberland Gap National Park. The park is centered on Cumberland Gap, which is a break in the Appalachian Mountains that is the gateway to Kentucky from Virginia. The campground has three full-service bathhouses. Loops B and C have electric hookups. Features include the Skylight Cave, Cudjo Cave, and views from the Pinnacle and White Rocks.

Twin Lake State Park

In the heart of Virginia, this park offers an array of cultural, environmental, and recreational activities. You can enjoy fishing, swimming, boating, camping, and lakefront picnicking, while hikers and mountain bikers can use the neighboring multi-use trail in Prince Edward-Gallion State Forest. This park sits on 548 acres and it boasts of a 33-site campground. Each site includes water and electricity. Hot showers and flush toilets are available. The park is well situated to explore several activities throughout central Virginia.
