Thanksgiving For The Homeless

Thanksgiving is too gracious and special of a holiday for all of us not to enjoy. Help those who don’t have much and share food that they can be thankful for so we can all have a heart-warming festive holiday.

Each year Thanksgiving provides us another opportunity to help and provide for the local homeless community by hosting a Thanksgiving Banquet located at Mars Hill in Downtown Fredericksburg. Safety is and always will be our top priority so due to the current pandemic, this annual event will have to follow a different process with specific rules compared to previous years. This year we will purposefully not have a sit-down meal because our relatively small venue does not offer the space required for successful social distancing. There will also not be the previously standard hygiene packs handed out this year. Instead, to compensate for this change, all guests will be provided a complete “to-go” Thanksgiving boxed dinner on Thanksgiving Day. All potential participants are being asked to meet at Mars Hill on Princess Anne Street at 10:00 am on Thanksgiving Day for ample time to collect hot foods and to assemble the boxed dinners mentioned earlier. The plan is for the dinners to be handed out between 11:30 am and 1:00 pm from the Mars Hill doors. We are asking individuals and groups interested to please bring these items to the banquet;

• Mashed Potatoes
• Green Beans
• Stuffing
• Rolls
• Desserts
