The 2023 Mazda CX-50 has a larger body than the 2022 CX-5. While both have some of the same design characteristics the Mazda CX-50 is sleek whereas the Mazda CX-5 is made of aerodynamic curves. The second available engine for the 2023 Mazda CX-50 is a SKYACTIV-G 2.5-liter turbocharged engine with a SKYACTIV-G 2.5-liter engine with Twin-scroll Turbo and i-Stop. This turbocharged engine raises the CX-50’s horsepower to 227 and raises torque to 310 lb-ft. The 2023 Mazda CX-50 is capable of towing 3,500 lbs. The 2022 Mazda CX-5 has a Skyactiv®-G 2.5 Turbo engine that delivers on its promise of speed with 250 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque as its second engine option. The 2022 Mazda CX-5 is capable of towing 2,000 lbs.
